From there, you head east or west - up to you - roaming toward the north and hitting a few checkpoints to make sure you catch the best of Vietnam (and don’t accidentally cross into China or Laos). This adventure is about exploring the uncharted, so prepare to be amazed by Vietnam’s wild beauty.

The Rice Cup isn’t a race; it’s a challenge-based adventure where strategy, creativity, and a touch of madness decide who takes home the glory. While participants are free to roam, a series of highly curated challenges and tactical checkpoints help pace the adventure and reward those who push the limits.

From the first rider to finish three bowls of pho under two minutes to every high-altitude pass crossed, each completed challenge earns you points. Some are easy, some are brutal - but all are legendary. The full challenge list? Revealed at the launch event. Expect the unexpected.

For a fee of 1,280 EUR per person, you get:

Not a pro - but definitely a confident one. If you’re fresh off a driving test or not familiar with scooters or bikes, this may not be for you. The roads are steep, twisty, and often unpaved. Plus, you’ll be riding with manual gears. If you arrive a few days early, we can arrange test rides and prep-lessons to get you up to speed!

This is a solo adventure (sort of). While each participant rides individually, you can choose to buddy up and tackle the journey together. Or go rogue. Your call.

Let’s be honest - yes. This is a raw, high-risk, low-hand holding kind of trip. You’re riding a motorbike in remote parts of Vietnam with basic support. Accidents can and do happen. If you’re looking for luxury, look elsewhere. If you're up for one hell of an adventure, welcome aboard.

You’ll need:

• A valid motorbike license (up to 150cc).

• An International Driving Permit (IDP), which extends your license internationally. Get both the physical and digital version - it takes minutes online and the physical copy helps if you get stopped (you will). One IDP per person. No exceptions.

We require a €400 refundable deposit per participant. This ensures the bike comes back in one piece (or at all). It can be paid in cash (any major currency) or card.

Yes. It’s a popular travel destination and largely very safe. Petty theft and the occasional corrupt cop can happen, but it’s nothing a bit of charm (and maybe 200k dong) can’t fix.

Despite the name, the Rice Cup isn’t a race - it’s a wild road trip wrapped in challenges. There's no time trial. No stopwatch. Just an epic journey through the heart of Vietnam with a crew of genius-idiots, each carving their own path to glory.

We'll recommend places, and cover one night at a checkpoint camp, but otherwise, you're on your own. Luckily, Vietnam is full of cheap guesthouses and the people are incredibly welcoming. Don’t stress it.

Yes, yes, YES. You need travel & medical insurance that covers riding a motorbike in Vietnam. This is non-negotiable. We recommend EuropAssistance, which costs around €100 per person.

Yes, 23+. You need a bit of life experience (and a healthy dose of self-preservation) to tackle this one.

Not for most nationalities if staying under 45 days - but always check your country’s entry requirements. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from arrival.

Assistance will be limited, and you’ll be expected to handle minor issues. But don’t panic - Vietnam is full of mechanics, and our support vehicle will do its best to reach you if things go south. Still, ride safe and don’t take unnecessary risks.

Vietnam is super budget-friendly. Expect:

• ~€20/day for food and accommodation.

• ~€10/day for fuel.

• Repairs (if needed) are your responsibility.

So, €30/day total is a good estimate.

Yes - all participants ride a fully-serviced Honda XR 150cc. However, minor variations in mileage, color, or year may occur. It’s nothing personal. Every bike is checked and ready to rip.
